Five ways to get a cleaner interview transcript
Better placement and a few recording habits can improve transcription more than hours of manual correction.

Improve the source before the model
Place the phone between speakers, keep it away from laptop fans, and avoid handling it during the conversation. Soft rooms with curtains or furniture produce less echo than empty meeting rooms.
Ask participants to finish a thought before another person starts. Clear turn-taking improves readability and makes speaker changes easier to review.
Make review faster
State unusual names and technical terms clearly near the beginning. After transcription, search for those terms first, then review timestamps around any uncertain section. Export only after the names and decisions are correct.
